Superb Value

Skeptical at what would arrive!The glass jar is thick and tough ( I HATE plastic, other than disposable Tupperware)!!In exchange for price competitiveness, I compromised on having a plastic 'cog/wheel' that turns the blades fully expecting it will wear out quickly, but I am impressed with the pulse action on this unit which really seems to assist in the speed of the blending process (compared to my old Oyster blender), and only takes half the motor time to blend my apples.I like that there are two rubber rings, one inside and outside of the glass jar for leak prevention. And lastly the reinvented cuff that surrounds the base of the jar acting as a splash guard is a heaven sent. Anyone who has accidentally forgotten to insert their rubber ring, or using a rubber ring that has lost it's seal as iit perishes, know the splatter that occurs in a nice 360% arc leaving a mess to clean up.For the price to performance, and life span of the product, this one is a no brainer for VALUE.

Was looking for something nice that wouldn't break the bank - so glad I found this blender! It has a huge jar, so you can stuff it high with ingredients for smoothies, salsa, etc., as opposed to having to add ingredients in multiple batches. The blender turned ice cubes (placed in a smoothie) into a frothy, delicious blend - no ice crystals or chunks! Just made salsa in it today and was very pleased with the TruBlend feature that pulses ingredients together.

Won't crush ice!

No matter how long I run this machine or stir up the contents, it does NOT "crush ice with ease" to "a consistent, smooth blend" as advertised in the product description. The drinks have lumps of ice in them. I've shopped Amazon.com for many years and this is the only product I have ever returned. The lid is very large and difficult for a woman with an average size hand to remove one-handed. This blender is a huge disappointment. Buy a different blender!
