Powerful

Powerful blender, had it for about a month. I've used the blender for large quantity smoothies and juices, single serve sizes for just myself, and the food processor portion to make various salsas. I've never had an issue with items not getting processed or cut down enough. The blender makes quick work of anything I've throw in there from frozen peaches, onion, to tomatoes. The single serve, pulse, dough, and blend settings are displayed clearly on the base. Locking suction cups hold the blender's base to the counter. I haven't made dough in it..yet.I have two minor and I mean minor cons:1) It's big, expect all the parts to take up cabinet space. Singel Serve cups, lids, large food processor, dough mixers, inserts, etc. The parts don't fit nicely together to compact the space it takes up.2) Usually when you buy blenders and juicers it comes with a cookbook. It does come with a small book of about 60ish receipes and over half are smoothies. There is a cookbook available running about 20-30 bucks, but if you pay over 200.00 for a blender the cookbook should have been a freebie.If you are looking for a powerful blender I'd highly suggest it, It's in a higher price range, but you get a quality product.

The Ninja BL771 1500 Watts Mega Blender

I had watched the infomercial for some months but was a little sceptical about what I saw, being aware of the cosmetics of some of these information videos. Nevertheless, I decided to give the blender system a try. So in December 2012 I purchased one from Amazon. It arrived sometime later, well packaged and in excellent condition. We looked at the infomercial again and doubted that it could produce dough in the time shownin the vodeo. Much to our surprise, it did just as demonstrated in the video. We have since used it for everything in the kitchen for many kinds of juices, ice cream, cocount grating and much more. We no longer use Lux or Kitchen Aid for preparing dough. The Ninja is much quicker. My wife who at the beginning doubted the capability of the system, now swears by it. We both agree that the Ninja Mega Blender, while an excellent addition to any modern day kitchen, will occupy the same place of honour in any commercial setting where food preparation is the principal undertaking. We love our Ninja system and ask,"Why was it so late in coming." One word of caution, though-the blades-, they are very sharp. So exercise due caution when you are washing then.

Good Blender but cannot do hot liquids

PROs: Powerful professional-style, blender for cool, cold smoothies/ concoctions. tons of options for juicing, food processing,CONS: Not for hot liquids, can't even hack a couple days of blending coffees and cappuccinos. Not a glass blending jarMy wife and i were looking for a good verstaile blender for smoothies and bulletproof coffee, so we bought something that we were familiar with in the Ninja Mega Blender. We have some of the other Ninja products and they work great. So first, this blender is powerful and the set gives you a lot of options when it comes to blending, juicing, food processing, etc. It made peanut butter without a problem, it makes awesome kale shakes and protein shakes - the single serve containers are very handy.Then we tried making what we really wanted it for - bulletproof coffee. You take 2 cups of hot coffee, 3 tablespoons of kerrygold butter, and 2 tbsp of MCT oil mix it in the blender (the butter and oil are not water soluble, so a good blender is needed - we also add cinnamon and pure cacao butter). So the first thing that happened is the seal on the airtight lid "fuses" to the blending jar - it actually got stuck and I broke the lid (I was able to fix it) - then the rubber gasket started melting and started to break and blend with my coffee; all this after less than a week. So boooo!Its powerful and somewhat versatile, but not for hot liquids.Awesome blender for everything but the hot stuff. We're researching Blendtec, since they have blending jars that can handle hot liquids.
